yeah totally normal, every legit site does this its called KYC. when i started on Boomerang Bet they asked for a photo of my drivers license and a recent utility bill or bank statement to confirm my address. took me like 10 min to upload and got approved next day. just make sure the pics arent blurry and the corners of the doc are visible or theyll reject it and you gotta redo the whole thing. dont stress about sending the docs, the regulated ones handle it securely

can confirm. did the same thing, ID and a bank statement, approved within a day. honestly its better that they ask, means theyre actually following the rules. the sketchy sites that DONT ask are the ones youd wanna worry about

fwiw the verification is required by canadian regulations and the gambling commissions. its basically anti money laundering stuff. they need to prove youre a real person of legal age before they pay out. pretty standard across the board now

idk man uploading my passport and bank statement to a betting site feels sketchy af. how do i know theyre not just gonna sell my info or get hacked

nah i get the worry but the licensed ones are bound by privacy laws same as your bank basically. ive been doing this for years across a few sites and never had an issue. the bigger risk is using some random unlicensed offshore site, THOSE are the ones id never hand my docs to

one thing to add, make sure the name on your account matches the name on your ID exactly. mine got delayed cuz i signed up with a nickname and the id had my full legal name lol. small detail but it tripped me up

also worth knowing some sites ask for verification right when you sign up, others only when you try to withdraw. either way youll have to do it eventually so might as well get it done early so theres no delay when you wanna cash out

wait so does the address doc have to be like super recent? i dont really get paper bills anymore everything is digital

yeah usually within the last 3 months. a digital pdf of your bank statement or a utility bill works fine, just download it and upload the file. doesnt have to be a physical paper one, mine was a screenshot of my online banking statement and it went through

same experience here, was nervous the first time too but it was painless. uploaded my license and a phone bill, done in a day. now withdrawals just go straight through without asking again. once youre verified youre good
